Marajó is the largest river island in the world, bordered by the mouths of the Amazon River.

 

I have come to this beautiful region in summer 2015 with Dr. Stephane Mounier and his family.

 

Despite the heat and high humidity, this trip has been an amazing chance to learn about the typical hydrological system of the famous Amazon,  its mangroves, and the rich ecosystem diversity.
